My design career began when
as a little girl I cut up magazines to make brochures for imaginary companies.
My joy was unbounded when a friend introduced me to CorelDraw in 1990,
and I promptly began producing flyers and posters for friends, family
and, when I left school, for the restaurant where I worked as a hostess.
I soon found myself happily employed as a junior designer and dtp trainer
at a small studio called DeskLink. Under Lore's expert guidance I learnt
the ins and outs of desktop publishing, designing and producing magazines,
brochures, logos, posters, slide presentations and annual reports, while
also teaching graphics software packages and providing technical support
for my students.
After two educational years with DeskLink, I decided to broaden my
horizons and departed for London, where Litho Supplies employed me as
a dtp trainer. Most of my students were printers, many of whom had been
in the industry longer than I had been alive, and as a consequence I
learnt a lot from them about the print trade.
